Engagifii Product Update - August, 2023

We’ve been making tons of progress in recent weeks on the Engagifii platform. Here's a summary of what's been released recently and what's coming soon!

Recent Releases

First, let’s talk about recent releases.  These are key items that have been released into production and are available for your team’s use today.


  • Month End Revenue Report (MERR) - This report allows you to view revenue booked by month across your events.  So, if you’ve had an event open for registration across a three month window, you’re able to view how much revenue was booked in the first month vs. the other two.  This release expanded on the report’s existing functionality to better capture revenue from classes associated with the event.
    • There is another release being planned for the MERR to account for revenue generated by the new Event bundles functionality, described next.

  • Event Bundles and Single-Day Registration - We’ve always had the ability to allow for unique and complex registration combinations.  Maybe an attendee wants some, but not all of the classes on offer.  This new functionality expands that greatly, allowing you to bundle specific Days, Classes, and Sessions in a myriad of ways.  Some examples might include:
    • Allow a person to register for a single day
    • Have a bundle for all the mandatory training
    • Break a pre-conference workshop out into its own, optional item.

  • Aged Trial Balance (ATB) - This report allows you to see your open, unpaid invoices, broken down by member and date range.  You may also know this as an Accounts Receivable Aging report.  Recent enhancements have been made to ensure that the ATB is capturing more revenue from across the platform and providing an holistic view of the financial situation.



  • Elected Officials Improvements - We’ve made updates to more accurately reflect the changes in elected officials since the last round of elections as well as added new email, filtering, and export functionality to the Public Officials pages. This compliments our earlier work to geocode and map elected officials to your member records, based on their addresses.



Nearing release

Along with several behind-the-scenes enhancements aimed at improving load times and overall system performance, we also have several new in-app releases nearing completion of their development and testing.  You should expect to see these in the platform in the coming days and weeks.


  • Cancel Event Registrations - For some time, we’ve been ironing out the wrinkles on a registration cancellation utility internally that allows for not only the cancellation of the registration, but the appropriate handling of its invoices, payments, refunds, and credit notes.  There are a bunch of moving pieces to a cancellation and we’re wanting to ensure that all of them are accounted for and tested.  We’ve finished building this and are in the final stages of testing now, expecting to roll this out to you in the coming days.

  • Approving Organization Field Updates - For some time, you’ve had the ability to designate situations where updates made to people in your database must be approved by someone on your staff.  We’ve iterated and improved that over time thanks to customer feedback and are now adapting the same functionality to Organizations.  In the coming weeks, you’ll have the ability to also send organizational profile updates down approval paths as well.

  • Refunds Improvements - You’ve had the ability to refund in most situations for quite some time.  But here have been edge cases and payment methods where that hasn’t been possible.  We’re making updates to close many of those gaps.
    • Refund from a credit note
    • Improved UI
    • Handling more refund failure reasons from Credit Card processors

  • Field Visibility - Say you have a field on a person’s profile that shows their shirt size or personality profile.  It’s important information you need to track, but don’t necessarily want to expose it to the member when she is updating her own profile.  Field Visibility will allow you to designate who can see individual fields when looking at the exact same profile, allowing you to show or conceal as you see fit.

  • Committees Enhancements - We’ve had Committees in Engagifii for some time and our clients are using it a bunch!  With that has come some learning and needs for iteration.  With this release, you’ll have more control around start and end dates for committee members, displaying them based on committee position ranking, exporting, and more.

  • On-Demand Classes - Most classes are taught live.  They may be in person or online, but there’s an instructor who’s teaching in real time.  Engagifii has always handled those situations.  However, in the modern world, a lot of training has moved to self-paced, online-only, on-demand training.  We’re adding a way to designate classes that fit that bill.

  • TalentLMS Integration Enhancements - Many of our clients use TalentLMS to manage their on-demand classes.  For some time, we’ve had the ability to integrate with TalentLMS and interact with the courses within it, but have not had the ability to track participant progress toward course credit and award completion within Engagifii.  This release will include that new benefit.

  • Exporting Organizations - Just like you sometimes need to export people and juggle them in Excel, you’ll have the ability to do the same with Organizations.

  • Terms for Elected and Appointed Positions - Many of your members are elected or appointed for a set term.  We’re building the functionality to allow you to designate their terms and track the history as they are appointed, elected, re-elected, leave, and come back over time.

Next for Development

Below is a list of items that we’ve envisioned and prepared for development.  They are not displayed in release order and, even if they were, they’d shift around over time, but we do expect most to be deployed and in production before January, 2024.  As we get closer and this list dwindles, we’ll be able to more proactively communicate which items (if any)end up at risk of slipping past the New Year.
