Public Officials enhanced and geocoded to people in your Relationships database
1. New Feature: Geocoding
1.1 Overview:
Public officials, such as State Representatives (and others) represent specific geographic areas. These legislative districts are defined on a regular basis by each state. People and organizations are assigned to a specific district based on their street address.
Engagifii is now able to use the street address on the People and Organizations within your Relationships database to "geocode" them to the appropriate legislative district, giving you quick access to which public official represents that person based on the address. Or, consider looking from the other direction. You're able to see the constituents of a given official from their record.
Geocoding is the process of converting addresses (like "1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA") into geographic coordinates (like latitude 37.423021 and longitude -122.083739), which is mapped within Engagifii to Public Officials and counties associated with the person's address. Currently, we have geocoded the following 6 states: AL, AZ, GA, LA, MD, and SC.
Geocoding has been implemented in the following areas:
- Legislative Tracking > Person detail page
- Legislative Tracking > Organization detail page
- Legislative Tracking > Public Official detail page
Note: Geocoding may require an addition to your current subscription. Check with Customer Support or your Customer Success Manager.
2. New Feature: New Political Information Tab on Person Detail Page
2.1 Overview:
A new Political Information Tab is available for permissioned users on the Person Detail Page. On this tab, only those Public Officials will reflect who is associated with the currently opened person detail page. The user can also see and manage the connections with the respective public officials.
This section will have the following tabs:
- Connections
- Person’s Officials
- Statewide Elected Officials
- State Senate
- State House
- State Senate Committee
- State House Committee
- County Delegations
- Congressional Delegations
This feature has been implemented in the following areas:
- Legislative Tracking > Person detail page
2.2 Connections tab:
A permissioned user will be able to see and access the Person’s relationship with Public Officials associated with the person’s address. A ‘Handshake’ icon on the public officials will reflect the table for managing the person's relationships with the public officials.
2.3 Person’s Officials tab:
A permissioned will be able to see and access the total list of Public Officials associated with the person’s address.
2.4 Statewide Elected Officials tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of Statewide Elected Public Officials on the person detail page.
2.5 State Senate tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of State Senators officials on the person detail page.
2.6 State House tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of State House of Representative officials on the person detail page.
2.7 State Senate Committees tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of State Senate Committees on the person detail page. Expanding the committees will reflect the list of member officials of the committee.
2.8 State House Committees tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of State House Committees on the person detail page. Expanding the committees will reflect the list of member officials of the committee.
2.9 County Delegations tab:
A permissioned user can access the total list of Counties on the person detail page. Expanding the counties will reflect the list of officials representing the county.
2.10 Congressional Delegations tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of Congressional Delegations associated with the person’s address.
3. New Feature: New Political Information Tab on Organization Detail Page
3.1 Overview:
A permissioned user can access a new Political Information Tab on the Organization Detail Page. On this tab, only those Public Officials will reflect who is associated with the currently opened organization detail page. The user can also see and manage the connections with the respective public officials.
This section will have the following tabs:
- Connections
- Organization’s Officials
- Statewide Elected Officials
- State Senate
- State House
- State Senate Committee
- State House Committee
- County Delegations
- Congressional Delegations

3.2 Organization’s Officials tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of Public Officials associated with the Organization's address.
3.3 Statewide Elected Officials tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of Statewide Elected Public Officials on the Organization's detail page.
3.4 State Senate tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of State Senators officials on the Organization's detail page.
3.5 State House tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of State House of Representative officials on the Organization's detail page.
3.6 State Senate Committees tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of State Senate Committees on the Organization's detail page. Expanding the committees will reflect the list of member officials of the committee.
3.7 State House Committees tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of State House Committees on the Organization's detail page. Expanding the committees will reflect the list of member officials of the committee.
3.8 County Delegations tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of Counties on the Organization's detail page. Expanding the counties will reflect the list of officials representing the county.
3.9 Congressional Delegations tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of Congressional Delegations associated with the Organization's address.
4. New Feature: New Constituents tab on Public Official Detail Page
4.1 Overview:
A new Constituents Tab is now available on the Public Official detail page of the geocoded workspace. On this tab, only those people will reflect who are associated with the currently opened Official detail page. The user will also be able to see and manage the connections with the respective People.
This section will have the following tabs:
- People
- Organizations
This feature has been implemented in the following areas:

4.2 People tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of People associated with the Public Officials address. A ‘Handshake’ icon on the People will reflect the table for managing the person's relationships with public officials.
4.3 Organizations tab:
A permissioned user will be able to access the total list of Organizations associated with the Public Officials address.
5. New Feature: New Connections tab on Public Official Detail Page
5.1 Overview:
A permissioned user will be able to access the Person’s relationship with Public Officials associated with the person’s address. A ‘Handshake’ icon on the public officials will reflect the table for managing the person's relationships with the public officials.

6. New Feature: Public Official Counties
6.1 Overview:
A permissioned user will be able to access the list of Counties' against the Public Officials that they represent. This county list will be available on the Public Officials list page as a column and on the Header of the Public Officials detail page. Also, the list of counties reflects on the Political Profile tab of the Public Officials detail page.

7. New Feature: Add affiliation, State, and District to public officials
7.1 Overview:
A permissioned user will be able to access the Public Official name having Party, Role, and District in the bracket to the right.
