Deciding at what point during a registration you want to generate an invoice and what do you want to do with the invoice once it is generated.
This article talks about invoice timing and held/auto-send configuration settings or in simpler words - when do you want to generate an invoice and what do you want to do with the invoice. There are situations in which an organization may want to generate an invoice but may not want to send that invoice till later, based on some business trigger. For example, if there is an approval workflow attached to a registration, an organization may not want invoices to be generated at the point of registration but at the point of approval.
Another situation might be when you may not want to send individual invoices for each registration for an organization. You may want to send a consolidated invoice once the registration window is closed.
We have come up with a setting which allows you to choose the timing of invoice generation and when it should be sent. These settings are applicable at class/award/event type level. If you do not want different configurations, you could also set defaults for these registrable objects.
Here’s how you can change the settings according to your requirements.
