Definition: Member Organization Lead (MOL)
Understanding MOLs and what they do
Many associations have members which are organizations. For example, a municipal association's members are cities and towns. The people in those cities and towns benefit from the city's organizational membership. If a mayor leaves office, her successor becomes a member within the member organizaiton.
Many organizational members have people on their staff who do administrative work on behalf of a member. For example:
- The Mayor may have an executive assistant
- The County Commissioner has a County Clerk
- The School Board has a School Board Secretary
That person is called the Member Organization Lead (MOL).
In Engagifii, the MOL is typically permissioned to do several things on behalf of the people within the member organization. For example:
- Manage database records for members within his organization
- Manage database records for the member organization itself
- Access and download training records on behalf of members
- Register members for events and classes
- And more, as needed by the association.
The MOL is designated by opening a person, clicking the 3-dot menu in the top right, and designating them as an MOL. Additionally, it's recommended that MOLs have their own Person Type and Role, which designates specifically which permissions they have throughout the platform.
